Elinah is an 8 year old girl who lives with her little sibling and mother at the shores of the lake victoria because they were abandoned by their father at an early age and does not provide for them, though he is a fisherman. Elinah's mother is a causal laborer at the landing site, collecting firewood from the forest for sale, washing clothes for people in the community in order to earn some money to sustain her family. Elina is a jolly and an active girl both at home and at school. She is always involved in singing and dancing competitions at school. She is also a bright girl and wants to become a doctor in future. Her favorite games at school are soccer and netball.
